MONROVIA, Liberia — Montserrado County District #10 Representative Yekeh Y. Kolubah has declared his intention to contest Liberia’s 2029 presidential election as an independent candidate, while criticizing President Joseph Boakai and former President George Weah.
Kolubah said he had no personal communication with Boakai regarding reconciliation messages recently posted on his social media page, explaining that the posts were intended to gauge public reactions.
He rejected suggestions that he was seeking reconciliation out of desperation, insisting that he was not financially desperate.
The lawmaker also directed criticism at Weah and former House Speaker Fonati Koffa, promising to challenge them politically.
Kolubah, however, said he could support the ruling Unity Party if opposition forces fail to present a serious political alternative.
“I hereby declare that I will be on the presidential ballot as an independent candidate in 2029,” he said.
