NOCAL Plans 26-Bed Hospital

The National Oil Company of Liberia (NOCAL) has announced plans to build a 26-bedroom hospital in Sinja, Grand Cape Mount County, according to its Chief Executive Officer, Fabian Michael Lai

NOCAL Chief Executive Officer, Fabian Michael Lai, disclosed the proposed project during an appearance on Okay FM, revealing that groundbreaking is expected within the next two weeks, subject to approval of the project contract.

According to Lai, the contract is currently at the Ministry of Finance, awaiting the necessary approval before construction activities can commence.

He explained that the commencement of the project will depend on the completion of the approval process, indicating that the proposed groundbreaking timeline remains contingent upon the government’s action.

The planned 26-bed facility is expected to strengthen healthcare delivery in Sinja and provide residents of surrounding communities with improved access to medical services.

The announcement represents a proposed investment in healthcare infrastructure in Grand Cape Mount County, where access to medical facilities remains an important concern for communities outside major urban centers.

However, the NOCAL chief executive did not provide further details regarding the project’s total cost, construction duration, funding arrangements, or the expected completion date.

With the contract still awaiting approval at the Ministry of Finance, attention will now be focused on how quickly the necessary administrative processes can be completed to move the proposed hospital project from announcement to implementation.
