Monrovia, Liberia – Montserrado County District #12 Representative Jerry K. Yogboh has traveled to the U.S. to attend the 50th Anniversary and Inauguration Ceremony of The Union of Liberian Associations in the Americas (ULAA).
The District #12 Representative is expected to return to Liberia on October 1, 2024, before leaving for Chad to attend the 82nd Session of the Executive Committee and the 46th Conference of the African Parliamentary Union (APU) from October 4-10, 2024.
Rep. Yogboh is part of a high-level legislative delegation headed by the Speaker of the House of Representatives of the 55th Legislature, Cllr. J. Fonati Koffa.
Speaker Koffa is expected to serve as the keynote speaker for this renowned gathering of Liberians in the diaspora.
The anniversary of ULAA is an annual event held by Liberians in the Americas to commemorate the founding of the organization and often features high-level officials from the Liberian Government in attendance.
This year’s ceremony is scheduled to take place in Washington, D.C., from September 27-28, 2024, and will include the inauguration of the newly elected officers of ULAA.
According to a statement from the office of Rep. Yogboh, the event promises to be a memorable celebration of the community’s heritage and achievements, strengthen bonds, and develop future plans and aspirations that could benefit their native land, Liberia.
The statement detailed that while in the U.S., Yogboh will also engage with Liberians, especially citizens from Gardnersville Township, to solicit their support and contributions toward the growth and development of District 12, Montserrado County, and Liberia as a whole.
He is also expected to lobby with partners for support regarding his developmental initiatives in the district.
Meanwhile, the Montserrado District 12 Lawmaker is anticipated to return to Liberia on October 1, 2024, before leaving for N’Djamena, Chad, to attend the 82nd Session of the Executive Committee and the 46th Conference of the African Parliamentary Union (APU) from October 4-10, 2024.
