After his mother, who was seven months pregnant, traveled to New York for vacation in 2001, Balogun accidentally became a citizen of the United States. Because of the size of her belly, the airline refused to let her fly when she tried to fly back home to London.
Folarin was ultimately born in Brooklyn and inadvertently became a citizen of the United States; they were only able to return to London after a few months when both he and his mother were considered healthy enough to fly.
In 2026, Balogun stunningly scored two goals in the United States’ 4-1 triumph over Paraguay, solidifying his position as the nation’s top striker.
