Former Collaborating Political Parties (CPP) Secretary General and staunch CDC supporter Wilfred J. S. Bangura II has returned to the Movement for Democracy and Reconstruction (MDR), where he has been appointed National Vice Chair for Political Affairs.
According to a letter dated August 5, 2026, and signed by MDR National Secretary General Jonathan S. Jackson, Bangura’s appointment was approved by the party’s National Executive Committee and takes immediate effect.
The appointment comes as Bangura formally announces his return to the party, describing the development as a significant moment for both himself and the MDR.
Bangura said his return comes at a time when the party has a renewed responsibility to protect and advance the legacy of its late founder, Senator Prince Y. Johnson.
He expressed appreciation to MDR Chairman, members of the National Executive Committee, and partisans for welcoming him back to the party.
“Together, we shall make our Party truly great again,” Bangura said.
