Beautiful Beginnings School Climaxes Three-Day Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign In Margibi

HAR BEL, Margibi County — Beautiful Beginnings School has climaxed a three-day breast cancer awareness campaign in Lower Margibi County with a street parade in Harbel City, bringing together students, teachers, parents, and representatives from other schools, including the Firestone School System.

The campaign began on Wednesday, October 7, 2026, with facilitators educating participants on various health-related issues, including stress, addiction, trauma, mental health, and communicable diseases.

The activities concluded on Friday, October 9, with a “Pink Day” parade aimed at raising awareness about breast cancer prevention, early detection, and treatment.

Speaking to Verity News, Beautiful Beginnings School Proprietress and Education Specialist Ollie White said the initiative seeks to provide accurate health information while promoting the well-being of teachers and students.

White explained that teachers were prioritized because of their influential role as caregivers and their ability to share health information with large numbers of students and members of their communities.

She emphasized the importance of protecting lives and called on national and local authorities to pay greater attention to the challenges posed by breast cancer.

“Our people’s lives are our priority,” White said, urging the public to seek reliable medical information and calling for increased support for teachers facing serious health challenges.

“This sickness is killing our people, and we need to protect their lives,” she added.

Meanwhile, Dr. James T. Helb, Jr., a medical doctor and Clinical Department Lead for Obstetrics and Gynecology (OB/GYN) Services and Women’s Health Conditions at Firestone Medical Center, affectionately known as Duside Hospital, served as the medical expert during the awareness activities.

Dr. Helb informed participants that breast cancer can affect both women and men, although women face a significantly higher risk.

He encouraged participants to take preventive measures, seek professional medical advice, and undergo regular medical examinations rather than relying on unprescribed medication.

Several parents and teachers expressed appreciation to Beautiful Beginnings School for organizing the awareness campaign, pledging to apply the knowledge gained and share the information with others in their communities.
