BARCLAYVILLE, Grand Kru County — Students, teachers, and residents across Grand Kru County have warmly welcomed the distribution of educational and athletic supplies under the Presidential Special Initiative, describing the gesture as an unprecedented level of direct support for local schools.

The government initiative, currently being rolled out across academic institutions in the county, provides students and educators with essential items including formal black shoes, sneakers, sports jerseys, footballs, and foundational learning materials.

Beneficiaries noted that the timely distribution has brought immense relief to families and renewed enthusiasm among students, encouraging higher classroom attendance and academic engagement.

Speaking during the distribution ceremony at Barclayville Central High School on October 5, 2026, Project Manager Mamassa D. Kamara emphasized that the intervention aims to motivate students to remain in school while relieving parents of basic educational expenses.

Receiving the consignment on behalf of his institution, Barclayville Central High School Principal Shadrack Jeh expressed gratitude to the national government, noting that equipping both learners and teachers creates a more conducive environment for quality instruction.

Students and faculty members who received the packages echoed similar sentiments, praising the administration for prioritizing rural education in Grand Kru. Project officials confirmed that the distribution exercise will continue across remaining primary and secondary schools throughout the county in the coming days.
