President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr. has appointed Cllr. Betty M. Lamin-Blamo as Acting Minister of Justice and Attorney General of Liberia, while Cllr. Abraham Boimah Sillah, Sr. has been named Acting Solicitor General.
The appointments take effect September 11, 2026, according to a statement from the Executive Mansion in Monrovia.
The appointments follow a recent transition at the Ministry of Justice and are intended to ensure continuity in the administration of justice and the effective discharge of the Ministry’s responsibilities.
Lamin-Blamo and Sillah will serve in acting capacities pending confirmation by the Liberian Senate following the Legislature’s return in October.
In their appointment letters, President Boakai expressed confidence in the integrity, professional competence and experience of both officials.
He urged them to perform their duties with diligence, impartiality and fidelity to Liberia’s Constitution and laws.
The President also called on the two officials to uphold the highest standards of integrity and public service as they assume their new responsibilities.
Boakai wished both officials success as they begin their respective assignments in the Ministry of Justice.
The appointments come amid a transition at the Ministry, with the administration seeking to maintain continuity in the country’s justice system.
