CMC Political Leader Musa Bility Issues Call of Hope Amid Election Aftermath

Saclepea, Nimba County – Nimba County District #7 Representative Musa Hassan Bility has issued a call of hope to the resident of Saclepea amid Nimba Senatorial By-election aftermath and legislative crisis.

In a statement on his social media, Bility said that as the red soil roads of Saclepea settle after a turbulent political season, a message of resilience and renewed hope has emerged, not from the corridors of power, but from the voice of the people.

Bility, Political Leader of the Citizens Movement for Change (CMC), is calling for unity, vigilance, and a focus on real issues as Liberia moves forward.

According to Bility, the recently concluded by-election in Nimba was more than a political contest, noting that it served as a referendum on the people’s longstanding frustrations and their hope for meaningful change.

“The people did not vote out of blind loyalty or empty belief. They voted to reclaim their voices, to find leadership that reflects their struggles and their aspirations,” Bility noted.

As politicians traversed villages and towns, making promises under the banner of development, citizens responded with cautious optimism.

Behind every handshake and campaign speech, Bility says, lay a deeper question: Who will truly stand for us?

He asserted that yet just as the ballots were counted and the campaign dust began to settle, Liberia was thrust into a constitutional storm.

A legislative crisis gripped the nation, threatening the very foundation of its young democracy.

During this moment of uncertainty, Bility praised the Supreme Court of Liberia for what he called “a bold and necessary stance in defense of the rule of law.”

He highlighted that the Court’s ruling, which rejected attempts to undermine legislative order, has sparked renewed civic consciousness throughout Nimba and beyond.

“We now understand that democracy is not a gift handed down by politicians,” Bility said. “It is a responsibility, ought for in the courts, defended in the communities, and protected in the hearts of the people,” he added.

The CMC leader emphasized that it is time to refocus the national conversation on the issues that truly matter to the people, while stressing the deplorable roads, underfunded schools, weak healthcare systems, and rising unemployment.

“The election may be over, but the work of nation-building has only just begun,” he emphasized.

Reflecting the voices of citizens in towns like Saclepea, Bility reaffirmed his movement’s commitment to democratic values and social progress.

“We remain committed. We remain awake. We remain determined,” he said in a hopeful message to supporters. There is no turning back,” he added.

As Liberia navigates a critical chapter in its democratic journey, Bility’s call of hope underscores a broader truth, emphasizing that the country’s future rests not in the hands of a few, but in the resolve of its people to demand more, expect more, and build more.
