After Verity News investigation also exposed the 100kg shipment of cocaine from the RIA to the United Kingdom on May 22, 2026, the LDEA has now added the 100kg transshipment to its ongoing US$19.2 million drug trafficking investigation and has moved to petition the Court to subpoena the Management of the Roberts International Airport (RIA) to produce all CCTV footage.
An investigation by this paper exposed and released classified documents including the waybills of the 233kg of cocaine and later the 100kg of cocaine. The Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency (LDEA) has now petitioned the Court to subpoena the RIA management to produce all closed circuit television (CCTV) footage covering specific dates between May 22, 2026 and June 8, 2026.
A writ of subpoena, issued under the gavel of Resident Circuit Judge Victoria Worlobah Duncan of the 13th Judicial Circuit Court in Kakata City, Margibi County, stated:
“…You are hereby commanded to subpoena the management of Roberts International Airport (RIA), Lower Margibi County, Republic of Liberia, to appear before the 13th Judicial Circuit Court for Margibi County, sitting in its May Term A.D. 2026 on Monday, June 22, 2026, at the hour of 10:00am to produce a shipping waybill, other documents, if any, and all closed circuit television (CCTV) video footage bordering and relating to the incidents of June 5, 6, 7, and 8, 2026, and to include May 22, 2026, respectively, involving substances discovered in boxes believed to be narcotic substances (cocaine) in the facility of the airport.” Mr. Edward N.
