Dismissed RIA Deputy Director Identified as Registered Agent for Vessel Under Security Investigation

Monrovia – Egon Kuiah, the dismissed Deputy Director for Operations at the Roberts International Airport (RIA), has been identified as the registered agent for the Comoros-flagged vessel IB Atlantic IV, which is currently being pursued by Liberian and Nigerian security authorities.

Kuiah, who has also been publicly linked by authorities to the ongoing investigation into the alleged US$317 million drug trafficking case, signed correspondence on behalf of the vessel’s owners and master in his capacity as Registered Agent for Madris & Companies Inc.

In a letter, Kuiah informed authorities that the IB Atlantic IV, bearing IMO No. 8502133 and flying the Comoros flag, was “in distress at sea.”

The vessel is under investigation after reportedly entering Liberia’s territorial waters and exclusive economic zone without authorization before departing. Authorities in Liberia and Nigeria are continuing efforts to locate the ship as part of the ongoing security operation.

Government investigators have not announced any criminal charges against Kuiah in relation to the vessel, and investigations remain ongoing.
