Eminent Citizen William Mbayoh Criticizes Senator Edwin Snowe Over Unfulfilled Bridge Promise in Bomi

MONROVIA, Liberia – Eminent citizen William Mbayoh has sharply criticized Bomi County Senator Edwin Melvin Snowe Jr. for what he described as a failure to fulfill a longstanding promise to construct a deteriorating bridge in Managbokai, a situation he says continues to affect the lives of residents in the area.

In a statement, Mbayoh accused the senator of failing to deliver meaningful development despite years of assurances that the bridge would be rehabilitated or reconstructed.

“The situation in Managbokai is a clear example of the difference between promises and performance,” Mbayoh said. “For years, residents have been waiting for the bridge that Senator Edwin Melvin Snowe Jr. promised to construct, yet nothing tangible has been delivered.”

According to Mbayoh, residents of the community continue to face significant challenges due to the poor condition of the crossing, which serves as a critical link for transportation and access to essential services.

He argued that the failure to address the deteriorating infrastructure has negatively impacted healthcare access, education, farming activities, and commercial operations in the area.

“Instead of meaningful development, the people continue to witness cosmetic gestures while the real challenges affecting their daily lives remain unresolved,” he stated.

Mbayoh further referenced a recent incident in which the senator’s own vehicle reportedly became stuck while attempting to cross the same area, describing the event as a reflection of the daily struggles faced by local residents.

“The recent incident of the senator’s own vehicle getting stuck on the same crossing he pledged to fix highlights the reality that the people of Managbokai face every day,” he said.

The prominent citizen called on elected officials to prioritize action over political rhetoric and ensure that development commitments are fulfilled.

“The people deserve more than speeches, photo opportunities, and unfulfilled commitments. They deserve action, accountability, and lasting infrastructure that improves their lives,” Mbayoh emphasized.

He concluded by stressing that effective leadership should be measured by tangible results rather than promises.

“Leadership is measured not by promises made, but by promises kept. Managbokai is still waiting for results,” he said.

The condition of the bridge remains a concern for residents who continue to call for urgent government intervention and infrastructure development in the community.
