On Monday, March 17, 2025, the European Union (EU) Ambassador to Liberia, H.E. Nona Deprez, paid a courtesy visit to the Managing Director of the National Port Authority (NPA), Hon. Sekou A. M. Dukuly, at the NPA headquarters.
Discussions centered on port operations, particularly the Freeport of Monrovia, and potential areas where the EU could support efforts to enhance efficiency and attract investment. Ambassador Deprez reaffirmed the EU’s commitment to fostering economic development in Liberia, highlighting the crucial role of modern and well-functioning ports in boosting trade and economic growth.
Hon. Dukuly welcomed the EU’s engagement and expressed gratitude for its continued interest in strengthening Liberia’s port infrastructure. Both parties agreed to maintain dialogue on strategic initiatives to improve port operations and increase business opportunities.
