Monrovia, Liberia – March 25, 2025 – A manhunt is underway for Abraham Kamara, who allegedly posed as a medical doctor and performed an unauthorized surgery that led to the death of Madam Dorcas Vondeh, 39. Kamara, the operator of ABC Clinic in Gardnersville, is accused of medical malpractice and fraud after conducting a surgical procedure without proper qualifications, leading to fatal consequences.
According to a formal complaint filed by Elbert Law Firm on behalf of the deceased’s family, Kamara performed a fibroid removal surgery on Madam Vondeh on March 16, 2025. Medical records from Redemption Hospital confirm that she was advised to undergo surgery, but instead of seeking care from a certified specialist, she proceeded with the procedure at ABC Clinic, believing Kamara’s false claims of expertise.
Tragically, just minutes after the operation, Vondeh succumbed due to severe complications. Investigations reveal that Kamara failed to stabilize her condition, and critical medical protocols were not followed before or during the surgery.
The situation has raised further concerns as reports indicate ABC Clinic had previously been shut down for non-compliance with health regulations. Clinical and Research Director Joseph Colmah confirmed that despite an official closure notice, the facility continued to operate unlawfully for two years without certification from the Liberia Medical and Dental Council (LMDC).
Following Vondeh’s death, Kamara has gone into hiding. Authorities are actively searching for him to face criminal charges, including fraud, practicing medicine without a license, and medical negligence resulting in death.
James-Emmanuel D. Cole, Jr, the Bureau of Communications/Public Relations Officer of the LMDC, has urged the public to come forward with any information regarding Kamara’s whereabouts. “We are calling on all citizens to assist in locating this individual so that justice can be served. No one should suffer at the hands of unqualified practitioners,” he stated.
