Monrovia – The Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MOCI), in consultation with the Liberia Petroleum Refining Company (LPRC), has announced a US$0.10 increase in the price of gasoline (PMS), while the price of fuel oil (AGO) remains unchanged.
According to a petroleum products monthly price circular issued on August 4, the new prices take effect on August 5, 2026. Under the revised pricing, gasoline will sell at a wholesale price of US$4.70 and a maximum retail pump price of US$4.98 or L$910.00. Fuel oil will remain at a wholesale price of US$5.77 and a retail pump price of US$6.05 or L$1,105.00.
The Ministry said the prices are based on the Central Bank of Liberia’s official exchange rate of L$182.32 to US$1.00 as of August 1, 2026.
MOCI stated that, together with the LPRC Inspectorate Team, it will closely monitor compliance with the approved price ceilings and prevent arbitrary increases or unfair pricing practices in the petroleum market.
