The Grand Gedeh Veterans Association has reaffirmed its commitment to education and human capital development by donating LRD$200,000 to Grand Gedeh University and providing US$250 in grants for deserving students.

Presenting the contribution, the Chairman of the Grand Gedeh Veterans Association, Sunday T. Heagbetus, said the donation reflects the organization’s dedication to supporting educational advancement and helping young people achieve their academic aspirations.

Heagbetus emphasized that investing in education remains one of the most effective ways to empower future generations and contribute to the development of Grand Gedeh County and Liberia as a whole.

Receiving the donation on behalf of the university, Elijah K. Gbarweay, Chairperson of the Grand Gedeh University One Million Dollar Fund Drive Committee, expressed gratitude to the Veterans Association for its timely and meaningful support.

Gbarweay described the contribution as a demonstration of the collective responsibility of Grand Gedeans to support the growth and sustainability of the county’s premier higher-learning institution.

The donation comes as Grand Gedeh University continues efforts to mobilize resources through its Endowment Fund Drive, aimed at strengthening academic programs, improving infrastructure, and expanding opportunities for students.
