Gray Claims Weah Is More Educated Than President Boakai

MONROVIA — Former Montserrado County District #8 Representative Moses Acarous Gray has claimed that former President George Weah is more educated than incumbent President Joseph Nyuma Boakai.

Gray, a prominent member of the Congress for Democratic Change (CDC), made the assertion while comparing the academic qualifications of the two political leaders.

“Former President Weah is more educated than President Boakai, who earned his bachelor’s degree in the 1970s. Boakai only has a bachelor’s degree, while Weah has a master’s degree,” Gray said.

President Boakai earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Liberia in 1972, according to his official biography.

Former President Weah earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from DeVry University in 2011 and later obtained a master’s degree in Public Administration, according to published biographical information.

Gray’s comments have drawn attention to the academic backgrounds of the two former and current Liberian presidents.

While Weah holds a higher-level academic degree, the description of one person as “more educated” depends on the criteria used, as formal degrees represent only one aspect of education and professional development.
