Hooked for Facilitating Academic Fraud at WAEC: LNP Charges, Forwards Eight People To Court Over Alleged Bribery and Examination Malpractices

The Liberia National Police has charged and forwarded to court eight individuals, including a student, in connection with alleged bribery, unlawful rewarding of public servants, and criminal conspiracy during the ongoing 2026 WASSCE examinations.

Investigators alleged that the group collected L$300 from each candidate at Global Net Preparatory School in the FDA community, totaling more than L$58,000 during a mathematics test session.

The alleged culprits include:

1) Emily T. Flom, Teacher, S & Y Faith Academy

2) Albertha B. Saydee, Teacher, Sacom Faith Foundation

3) Elton Akoi Chelley, Sr., Teacher, New Testatment Baptist School System

4) Arthur Karnquee, Teacher, Head Start Preparatory School

5) Deiker L. Paye, Teacher, Cathedral Catholic School

6) Balima M. Subah, Teacher, Confidence School System

7) Anthony Y. Whykolo, Teacher, Len Millar Salvation Army

8)A student whose name remains withheld.

The case has been sent to the Monrovia City Court for prosecution, with some of the accused reportedly admitting involvement while others denied the allegations.
