Kids Reading for All Foundation Empowers Underprivileged Students

The Kids Reading for All Foundation has significantly impacted education in Maizen, Bomi County, by donating educational materials to underprivileged students at the Ambulia Gbangba Public School. The foundation provided pens, copybooks, pencils, and L$2,800 to 15 scholarship recipients during a ceremony held at the school.

The initiative, led by the foundation’s CEO, LtCol Saimo Omias Kortu, and Executive Director, E. Reagan G.T. Barcon II, aims to support the academic growth and development of Liberia’s underprivileged children.

At the event, LtCol Kortu highlighted the foundation’s dedication to empowering young learners. He pledged to continue providing educational resources annually and announced plans to establish scholarships for top-performing students to promote academic excellence.

“This initiative is about giving back to society and ensuring every child has the opportunity to succeed in their educational journey,” said Kortu.

Executive Director Barcon echoed similar sentiments, emphasizing the transformative power of education. He urged the scholarship recipients to focus on their studies, respect their parents and teachers, and exhibit good character.

“Education and human capacity building are the foundations of a developed society. We are investing in these children to help them become responsible citizens who can contribute meaningfully to their communities,” Barcon stated.

Receiving the donations on behalf of the school, the principal expressed profound gratitude to the Kids Reading for All Foundation for its meaningful support. He commended the organization for fostering a positive learning environment and creating student opportunities to excel.

“This gesture is a blessing to our school and community. We thank the foundation for its commitment to the education of our children,” the principal remarked.

The event drew participation from school administrators, local leaders, and residents of Maizen Town, who applauded the foundation’s efforts to uplift the community through education.

The Kids Reading for All Foundation’s initiative has brought hope to the underprivileged students of Ambulia Gbangba Public School. With promises of continued support, the foundation has demonstrated its commitment to addressing educational challenges and empowering Liberia’s future leaders.
