MONROVIA, Liberia — Secretary General of the Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC), Jefferson Tamba Koijee, has welcomed the September 27 joint communiqué signed by five opposition parties, describing it as a significant step toward political cooperation ahead of the 2029 elections.
Koijee said the agreement involving the CDC, ANC, MOVEE, MPC and ULDP demonstrates a shared commitment to constitutional democracy, accountability and an alternative political agenda.
He criticized the Boakai administration over issues including poverty, unemployment and the prolonged disruption at the University of Liberia, while calling for greater transparency over the government’s delegation and expenses at the United Nations.
Koijee also said the opposition would continue raising concerns about corruption allegations, the rule of law, free speech and the independence of the National Elections Commission.
He declared that the opposition’s campaign would extend across Liberia ahead of the 2029 elections, describing the coalition’s objective as the “people’s final redemption.”
