Liberia Agricultural Company (LAC) has dedicated two new school buses and an operational truck to support education, employee welfare and daily operations in its host communities.
The vehicles were dedicated on September 3, with the two buses expected to provide safer transportation for employees’ children and students in communities where the company operates.
According to LAC, the buses will help reduce students’ dependence on motorbikes, while making it easier for children to get to school on time and attend classes regularly.
The newly dedicated truck will support the company’s Construction Department and other day-to-day operational activities.
Speaking at the ceremony, LAC General Manager Naveen Madan urged parents and guardians to encourage students to use the buses responsibly and attend school regularly.
Madan also called on the drivers to obey traffic regulations and make the safety of the children their top priority.
LAC Human Resources and Administrative Manager Eric Mulbah thanked the company’s shareholders for providing the vehicles, saying the investment demonstrates LAC’s commitment to the welfare of its employees and the education of their children.
The company also highlighted the progress of Sandra Dixon, a 2025 graduate of St. Joseph High School, who has left Liberia to pursue studies in Environmental Science in India.
Dixon received a full scholarship through LAC’s school system that enabled her to attend the African Methodist Episcopal University. She later received another scholarship from the Indian Embassy accredited to Liberia to continue her studies in India.
Before her departure, family members, teachers and LAC management gathered to celebrate her achievement.
Madan expressed confidence that Dixon would return to Liberia after her studies and contribute to the country’s development.
Dixon, reflecting on her journey, said she hoped to serve as “a symbol of light for the LAC school system.”
The company said Dixon’s achievement demonstrates the importance of investing in education and creating opportunities for young people in its operational communities.
The dedication of the vehicles and Dixon’s scholarship achievement form part of LAC’s broader efforts to support education, employee welfare and community development.
