LDEA Arrests Suspect of Drug Trafficking

The Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency (LDEA) Grand Gedeh County Detachment has arrested a man in connection with drug possession and trafficking.

The suspect, Dester Bowen, also known as Egcar, was apprehended on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, at around 7:30 PM in Bowen Quarter Community. According to the LDEA, Bowen was found in possession of 18 wraps of kush, 116 wraps of heroin, and half a tube of cocaine. The seized drugs have a combined street value of USD $617 and LRD 117,230.

Following an investigation, Bowen was formally charged with unlicensed possession of controlled drugs, illicit trafficking, and distribution of controlled substances. Authorities have since forwarded him to court, where he awaits trial.

The LDEA has reaffirmed its commitment to cracking down on drug-related crimes and ensuring that traffickers face justice. The agency has assured the public that it will continue to pursue those involved in the illegal drug trade. Further developments in the case are expected as the legal process unfolds.
