In a bold statement poised to reshape Liberia’s energy landscape, the Acting Managing Director of the Liberia Electricity Corporation (LEC), Mohammed M. Sherif, has declared that load shedding will soon become a thing of the past, provided customers keep their electricity meters funded.
Speaking during a live interview on OKFM, on May 5, 2025, Sherif assured the public that from April to June 30, 2025, load shedding will be the thing of the past
“From April to June 30, 2025, load shedding here and there will be a thing of the past, except if you don’t have money in your meter.”
This announcement marks a potential milestone for LEC as it pushes to stabilize power supply nationwide.
