The Liberia Football Association has with immediate effect, expelled Class- A referee Josephus Torjilor from all LFA organized activities.
Torjilor’s expulsion in consistent with the Referee Committee’s report from the match Nimba versus Grand Gedeh in the ensuing National County Meet.
His poor officiating brought referring and the game into opprobrium and also caused grave damages and losses.
The match drew 2-2 on Saturday in the full ninety minutes with the extra 30 minutes postponed due to poor visibility at the SKD.
Nimba County triumphed over Grand Gedeh County in a post-match penalties shootout 4-2 after the extra 30 minutes ended 0-0.
The match’s end was chaotic as angry fans of Grand Gedeh invaded the pitch and vandalized the dugout seats and other modern items due to referee Josephus Torgilor’s decision to have canceled a goal scored in the dying minutes of the game by Grand Gedeh, a goal the fans of the Zuluwisky boys believed would have qualified them to the semifinals stage of the tournament.
World governing bodies of football, Confederation of African Football (CAF) and Federation of International Football Association (FIFA) once banned Liberia from hosting international competitions due to our stadiums lacked of modern facilities.
Liberia was made to purchase these modern items and properly renovated our stadiums at the mandate of CAF.
