In a bid to strengthen bilateral relations, Nathaniel T. Kwabo, Director General of the Cabinet of Liberia, met with his Sierra Leonean counterpart, John Sumailah, at the OAU Drive office in Freetown. The meeting occurred during President Joseph N. Boakai’s official visit to Sierra Leone.
Hon. Sumailah, who also serves as the head of Sierra Leone’s Civil Service, warmly welcomed Hon. Kwabo, expressing his pleasure at the opportunity to discuss collaborative efforts to improve governance.
The discussion focused on exchanging ideas and experiences to enhance the effectiveness of their respective cabinets. One key topic was the Performance Management and Compliance System (PMCS), a program being implemented in both Liberia and Sierra Leone. Hon. Sumailah and his team provided an overview of the PMCS, detailing its positive impact on productivity and service delivery and sharing challenges encountered during its implementation.
To further strengthen cooperation, both officials agreed to promote study tours to enhance the capacity of their staff. They also committed to working closely with other African nations through the Africa Cabinet Government Network (ACGN) to improve decision-making and support evidence-based policy development.
This meeting marks an important milestone in the partnership between Liberia and Sierra Leone, signaling a shared commitment to enhancing governance and public service delivery.
