A Liberia-flagged vessel transporting crude, M.T. Al Maryah, has been hit by a drone while sailing eastbound outside the Strait of Hormuz, according to multiple international news outlets.
The vessel’s power and main engine remain operational, and it is now safely anchored at Khor Fakkan. All 19 crew members, including nine Indian nationals, were confirmed safe, according to a Directorate of Maritime Administration report.
The report also said nine vessels of Indian interest remain in the Persian Gulf, west of the Strait of Hormuz, and have been identified for evacuation.
