The Liberia Media for Democratic Initiatives (LMDI) has announced the launch of its groundbreaking radio station, RADIO ZEE-MAANNEH (RADIO-Z), marking a historic moment in Liberia’s media landscape.
RADIO-Z, operating on FM 90.3, is the country’s first Communication for Development radio station. Currently in its testing phase, the station’s broadcast reaches Whede and Kpoko towns in the Peace Community area of Lower Careysburg, spanning parts of Montserrado and Margibi counties.
Dedicated to promoting democratic values, education, and development, RADIO-Z will feature a range of community-focused programming. Signature programs such as The Dialogue, Ducor Debates, and Tomorrow’s People, already celebrated for fostering public discourse and societal transformation, will be central to the station’s offerings.
In an effort to build its team and encourage professional growth, LMDI is inviting students and young professionals to apply for internship and volunteer opportunities at RADIO-Z. The organization is mainly targeting mass communication students from local universities, including the University of Liberia.
Interested applicants are encouraged to submit their applications to LMDI’s headquarters in Peace Community, Whede Town, Lower Careysburg, along the Monrovia to Kakata Highway. The submission deadline is Friday, February 7, 2024, at 5:00 PM. Applicants may contact Ms. Pinky N. Flomo, Administrative and Finance Officer, at 0778204016 or 0881947989 for further inquiries.
With RADIO-Z, LMDI aims to redefine media engagement in Liberia, providing a platform for meaningful conversations that inspire positive change. The station invites Liberians nationwide to tune in and participate in this transformative initiative.
