UNICEF Launches Immunization Dashboard

UNICEF has introduced a new interactive dashboard to enhance transparency and efficiency in global vaccine distribution.

The platform provides real-time data on key vaccines for preventable diseases, including polio, measles, human papillomavirus (HPV), malaria, and rotavirus.

It also tracks the procurement and delivery of essential injection equipment, such as syringes and safety boxes, to ensure safe immunization practices.

The dashboard highlights UNICEF’s pivotal role in combating infectious diseases by detailing the doses distributed to over 100 countries, targeting the most vulnerable populations. However, the data excludes vaccine procurements funded by domestic sources or from countries that have not authorized the release of such information.

UNICEF noted that its immunization efforts annually impact 45% of the world’s children under the age of five. By partnering with governments, private sector organizations, non-governmental entities, and other UN agencies, UNICEF ensures vaccines reach even the most remote communities.

As one of the largest global buyers of life-saving supplies, UNICEF leverages its position to negotiate lower vaccine prices, increasing affordability and accessibility worldwide. Beyond procurement, the organization prioritizes strengthening health systems to ensure the efficient delivery of vaccines, emphasizing the importance of infrastructure in protecting children from preventable diseases.

With its new dashboard, UNICEF reaffirms its commitment to shaping the global vaccine market, reducing costs, and saving lives. The platform is a testament to the organization’s dedication to ensuring that life-saving immunizations are accessible to all, regardless of geography or economic status.
