The Liberia National Police (LNP) has confirmed a Verity News report concerning an unidentified vessel found grounded along the Monrovia coastline without crew members on board.
In a press statement issued Thursday, September 10, 2026, the LNP said authorities had secured the vessel after it was discovered along the coastline.
According to police, no crew members were present when responders arrived at the scene.
The LNP said a joint maritime and law-enforcement assessment is currently underway to identify the vessel, determine its origin and movements, and establish the circumstances under which it came ashore.
The police cautioned members of the public against approaching the vessel or removing anything from it, urging citizens instead to provide investigators with any relevant information or footage.
The LNP emphasized that no conclusion regarding possible criminal activity has been reached.
The development comes after Verity News reported the presence of an unidentified vessel along the Monrovia coastline, raising questions about its origin and circumstances surrounding its arrival.
Authorities said investigations remain ongoing as relevant agencies work to establish further details about the vessel.
