The Lofa County Sports Steering Committee has signed a contract agreement with the Yombah Group of Companies for the construction of the first phase of the Lofa County Stadium.
The signing ceremony was held on Saturday, May 24, 2026, in Voinjama, Lofa County, bringing together local authorities headed by Lofa County Superintendent J. Lavelah Massaquoi, members of the Sports Steering Committee, and representatives of the contracting company responsible for the project.
Officials described the agreement as a major step toward the development of sports infrastructure in the county. The project is expected to provide a modern sporting facility that will host football matches and other sporting activities for young people across Lofa County.
According to organizers, the first phase of the construction is expected to last approximately 18 weeks.
Residents and sports lovers in the county have welcomed the initiative, expressing hope that the stadium project will help promote youth development and sporting talents in the region.
