The 55th House of Representatives has voted to extend the suspension of Representatives Marvin Cole and Edward P. Flomo for an additional 30 session days. The suspension follows their repeated absences from legislative sessions and alleged disrespect toward Deputy Speaker Thomas P. Fallah during a crisis at the Capitol Building.
Suspended initially on November 19, 2024, both lawmakers faced ongoing disciplinary action after failing to comply with plenary directives. Representative Jeremiah G. Sokan of Grand Gedeh County, District #1, motioned to extend their suspension, noting that Cole and Flomo had not adhered to the order to stay away from the Capitol until their suspension was lifted.
Meanwhile, Montserrado County District 15 Representative Abu B. Kamara had his suspension lifted after completing the required disciplinary period.
In contrast, other representatives, including Frank S. Foko, Alex S. Noah, Eugene JM Kollie, and Zinnah Normal, will continue serving their suspensions until the House resumes its sessions in May 2025.
Representatives Cole and Flomo join a growing list of lawmakers who are currently suspended, including Rep. J. Fonati Koffa, Rep. Musa Bility, Rep. Yekeh Y. Kolubah, Rep. Muka K. Kamara, Rep. Jerry Yorgbor, Rep. Samuel Enders, Rep. Jacob Debee, Rep. Thomas Gosuah, and Rep. Dixon Seboe, all of whom are set to remain suspended for another 30 session days.
