The Monrovia Consolidated School System Teachers Association (MCSSTA) is currently holding an emergency meeting with the Education Officer of Montserrado County, who is representing the Minister of Education.
The meeting comes amid an ongoing go-slow action by MCSS teachers, which has disrupted classes and triggered protests by public school students complaining about the absence of teachers in their classrooms for more than three weeks now.
The emergency meeting is expected to address the concerns surrounding the teachers’ action and the resulting disruption of academic activities across affected schools.
The outcome of the meeting could determine the next steps in resolving the situation and restoring normal academic activities.
