Mctiama Foundation Hosts Career Development Symposium for Margibi Students

Harbel City, Margibi — The Mctiama Foundation Incorporated, headed by Liberian journalist and educator Christiana M. Mabande, on Saturday conducted a one-day career development symposium for more than 75 high school students in Lower Margibi County.

Held at the Women Resource Center in Harbel under the theme, “Ignite the Future,” the symposium brought together students and professionals from various fields to discuss career growth, personal development, and skills acquisition.

The event featured four speakers who shared insights on key areas considered essential for success in today’s competitive environment.

Speaking on Financial Discipline and Networking, Liberian journalist and media executive Emmanuel M. Kangar Jr., Deputy News Editor of Verity Newspaper and General Overseer of Gibi FM 90.9, encouraged students to build meaningful relationships and practice financial responsibility.

Kangar emphasized that effective networking can create opportunities and help individuals overcome challenges when done positively and professionally.

Other speakers included Enoch Godson Brooks, who delivered presentations on self-awareness, self-esteem, public speaking, and communication; Josephine T. Togbah, who spoke on the importance of time management; and Ambassador Dennis Kromah, who discussed digital and technical skills as critical tools for career advancement in the modern world.

In her remarks, Mctiama Foundation Chief Executive Officer Christiana M. Mabande urged participants to view the symposium as an opportunity to explore their potential and prepare for future career opportunities.

She stressed the importance of education, self-development, and continuous learning in achieving personal and professional success.

Students who attended the program expressed appreciation to the organizers and speakers, describing the symposium as both educational and transformational. Many said the discussions provided valuable guidance and inspiration for their academic and career aspirations.

The symposium forms part of the Mctiama Foundation’s efforts to empower young people through education, mentorship, and career development initiatives across Liberia.
