Margibi County – Media specialist Garmondeh Wremongar Blojay Joe has publicly criticized conditions at the Liberian Agricultural Company (LAC), alleging that some workers are subjected to exploitation and inhumane living conditions in the company’s Wallfall and Arrow camps.
In a statement posted online, Joe described the reported conditions as degrading and likened them to “modern-day slave camps,” claiming that workers who contribute to the company’s operations are forced to live below acceptable human standards. He argued that such treatment reflects broader social and governance challenges confronting Liberia.
Citing his Christian faith, Joe said caring for the poor and vulnerable is a moral obligation, expressing disappointment over what he described as the neglect of workers’ welfare. He called for greater attention to the living conditions of employees and urged national reflection on the treatment of vulnerable Liberians.
The Liberian Agricultural Company had not publicly responded to the allegations at the time of publication.
