Greenville, Sinoe County – In a swift operation aimed at curbing the spread of illegal narcotics in Liberia, officers of the Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency (LDEA) have arrested a Nigerian national in possession of a large quantity of drugs during a routine foot patrol in Sunday Kantan Camp, Sinoe County
The suspect, identified as 27-year-old James Udeh, was apprehended on Sunday, June 29, 2025, at approximately 4:36 PM by an LDEA patrol team led by Special Agent Milton K. Howard. According to investigators, Udeh was intercepted, searched, and found with six kilograms of high-grade marijuana and a full box of tramadol—powerful substances classified as illegal under Liberian drug laws.
Authorities estimate the street value of the drugs at over USD $600, or more than 134,000 Liberian Dollars.
Udeh, reportedly a member of Nigeria’s Igbo tribe, has been formally charged and turned over to the court for prosecution. His photograph has been released by the LDEA, which is now calling on the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity in their communities.
“This arrest underscores our commitment to the fight against illicit drugs, particularly those that target and destroy the future of our youth,” said an LDEA official, speaking on condition of anonymity. “We will continue to step up patrols and expand community outreach as part of our nationwide anti-drug efforts.”
The agency has vowed to remain relentless in protecting citizens, especially in rural areas where drug trafficking networks often seek refuge due to limited enforcement presence.
As the case heads to court, residents of Sinoe County are commending the LDEA for its proactive action and are urging local authorities to remain vigilant in maintaining public safety.
