MONROVIA, Liberia — Liberian actor Gregory Artus Frank Sr., popularly known as Frank Artus, has announced his decision to disassociate himself from the Congress for Democratic Change (CDC), citing personal reflection and an independent decision.
In a statement dated Tuesday, September 29, 2026, Artus said he would no longer identify himself as a member, partisan, representative, stakeholder or affiliate of the CDC.
He expressed gratitude for the relationships and experiences gained over the years, while stressing that his decision was not directed against any individual, leader, supporter or institution.
Artus said his past photographs, appearances and political activities associated with the CDC should be viewed within their historical context and should not be interpreted as representing his current political affiliation.
He described himself as an independent citizen committed to Liberia’s peace, unity, development and opportunities for all.
His departure comes amid broader political discussions surrounding the CDC and its internal direction. However, Artus did not cite any internal dispute as the reason for his decision.
