President Boakai Appoints New Ambassadors at Large 

Monrovia, Liberia – President Joseph Nyuma Boakai has appointed a distinguished group of individuals as Ambassadors at Large to the Policy Advisory Council of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, according to a press release from the Executive Mansion on Wednesday, January 29, 2025. The new appointments are seen as a strategic move by the administration to enhance Liberia’s diplomatic engagements and elevate the country’s role in international affairs.

The newly appointed Ambassadors at Large are tasked with advising the government on foreign policy matters and fostering key international partnerships. The appointments underscore President Boakai’s commitment to strengthening Liberia’s presence on the global stage and advancing its foreign policy objectives. The group will provide expert guidance on various diplomatic initiatives to ensure Liberia’s interests are effectively represented worldwide.

Hon. B. Elias Shoniyin, a seasoned diplomat and political figure, has been appointed as the Chair of the Policy Advisory Council. Joining him on the council as members are Ambassador Blamoh Nelson, Ambassador Ethel Davis, Hon. Chris Moore, and Hon. Robert Lormia. These individuals bring a wealth of experience in governance, diplomacy, and international relations, which will be instrumental in shaping the direction of Liberia’s foreign policy.

In a further extension of Liberia’s diplomatic strategy, President Boakai has also appointed Hon. Sheikh Moustapha Kouyateh as Ambassador at Large for Special Duties. In this role, Kouyateh will work closely with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to support the government’s strategic diplomatic initiatives, focusing on expanding Liberia’s global network of allies and fostering development opportunities.
