In a letter addressed to the party’s leadership, the Bong County District#3 lawmaker said his decision is predicted upon the stance of the party’s chairman George Sylvester Mulbah and other executive members to endorse what he termed as his illegal suspension by the current leadership of the House of Representatives.
Additionally, the Bong County lawmaker expressed frustration in the party’s leadership for not giving him the opportunity to be heard on the matter that led to his suspension, but chose to endorse such suspension.
Rep. Cole added that the alleged failure of the party’s leadership, especially chairman Mulbah, to solicit his side in the matter contravenes the by-laws and constitution of the NPP, as such, he can no longer be a member of the NPP.
Moreover, Rep. Cole attributed his decision to protect the rule of law in relations to the current political impasse on Capitol Hill.
He then appreciated the party’s torchbearer Madam Jewel Howard Taylor for the time afforded him to be a member of the party since 1997, thus wishing the NPP well in its political endeavors.
