On May 18, 2026, MD Mo Ali made three claims about access to water supply across Liberia:
1) 76 percent of Liberia’s population has access to basic water supply.
2) Approximately 17,000 homes or households in Liberia are currently connected to LWSC’s water systems.
3) 53 percent of those connected to LWSC water lines do not pay their bills.
The managing director made these claims when he appeared on Spoon Breakfast Show with Host Yekehzie Zwuogbae.
It appears like Ali has fallen in trouble with some lawmakers on Capitol Hill, including Rep. Musa Bility and Rep. Taa Wongbe of Nimba County, as his recent water statistics has since sparked widespread public debate and doubts.
The lawmakers have summoned MD Ali on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, to also address growing public concerns about continued water shortage, limited access, and poor customer service.
