The latest pronouncement by U.P Chairman Luther Tarpeh signals that the Unity Party will rule Liberia far more than the moribund Trug Whig Party that ruled for 102 years from 1878 to 1980. Some political pundits claim that Tarpeh’s latest statement reflects and aims for a one-party state.
“Whatever you like or call it, that’s your business. But I believe in my heart that Unity Party will rule this country for over 200 years. The reason is not based on fallacy. It is based on stupendous projection that clearly indicates that Unity Party remains supreme in the body politics of Liberia. And I can say to you, all of you here, young comrades, from different parts of town and different parts of Montserrado, you are the future of the Unity Party.” Chairman J.
