Russia will provide five state-funded scholarships to Liberian students for the 2026–2027 academic year, marking the first such opportunity in many years, according to the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Ghana.
In a press statement, the Embassy said the scholarships are being offered under the Russian Federation Government’s quota and are intended to strengthen long-term humanitarian cooperation between Russia and Liberia.
The Embassy said Liberia has expressed interest in training specialists in economics, information security and medicine.
It added that Liberian representatives are also participating in the International Festival of Youth in Ekaterinburg, Russia, from September 11–17, 2026.
According to the Embassy, the event provides young Liberians an opportunity to learn about life in Russia and establish friendships with peers from 191 countries.
