Montserrado County Senator Abraham Darius Dillon has predicted that the opposition Liberty Party will rise to national leadership in the 2029 general elections, drawing a parallel between the party’s political journey and Arsenal Football Club’s long-awaited English Premier League triumph.
Speaking at the Liberty Party’s 21st Anniversary Fundraising Dinner held at Monrovia City Hall, Senator Dillon expressed confidence that the party’s years of existence and political engagement would culminate in electoral victory.
“Today marks 21 years of the Liberty Party’s existence and celebrations. Interestingly, after Arsenal waited 22 years to win the English Premier League title again, I strongly believe the Liberty Party will also emerge victorious in the 2029 elections after 21 years of existence,” Dillon said.
His remarks drew attention from party members and supporters gathered for the event, which marked over two decades since the establishment of the Liberty Party as one of Liberia’s key opposition political institutions.
The Montserrado Senator used the occasion to highlight resilience and long-term political persistence, suggesting that sustained party organization and loyalty could eventually translate into state power.
The Liberty Party’s anniversary celebration also served as a fundraising platform aimed at strengthening its structures ahead of future electoral contests, including the highly anticipated 2029 general elections.
