Grand Gedeh County – Congress for Democratic Change (CDC) former assistant minister of Finance Benedict Kolubah has accused the Unity Party-led government of taking credit for road projects he says were conceived and initiated under the administration of former President George M. Weah.
Speaking at the Jefferson T. Koijee Intellectual Forum, Kolubah argued that several road projects currently being showcased by the Boakai administration were planned, launched, or set in motion during the CDC government.
He challenged citizens of Grand Gedeh County and Liberians across the country to critically examine government claims surrounding infrastructure development, insisting that the Weah administration demonstrated a stronger commitment to road construction, particularly in southeastern Liberia.
According to Kolubah, the current government is benefiting politically from projects that originated under former President Weah, while failing to acknowledge the previous administration’s role.
The Unity Party government, however, has maintained that it is implementing and expanding national infrastructure projects as part of its development agenda.
Kolubah’s claims have not been independently verified. Determining which road projects were initiated, funded, or substantially executed under the Weah and Boakai administrations would require an independent review of official government records and project documentation.
