MONROVIA —The Supreme Court of Liberia is expected to deliver a major ruling on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, in the controversial expulsion case involving former Montserrado County District #10 Representative Yekeh Kolubah.
The ruling, scheduled for 3:30 PM, follows months of political tension and legal debate surrounding Kolubah’s removal from the House of Representatives by 49 lawmakers.
The expulsion, came after statements allegedly made by Kolubah during the recent Liberia-Guinea border dispute, comments that reportedly sparked outrage among several members of the Legislature.
Speaking ahead of the ruling, Kolubah disclosed that his legal team had received official communication from the country’s highest court regarding the hearing.
“The Supreme Court has just issued a Notice of Assignment to my legal team for its ruling scheduled for tomorrow at 3:30 PM,” Kolubah stated.
The case has attracted widespread public attention, with many Liberians closely monitoring the proceedings due to the constitutional and political implications involved.
Many Liberians believe that the ruling could establish an important precedent regarding the powers of lawmakers to discipline or expel elected members of the Legislature.
