WASHINGTON, D.C. — President Donald Trump has barred journalists from CNN, MS NOW and Politico from covering the White House, in a move that has drawn attention over press access and First Amendment concerns.
The affected media organizations have challenged the decision and defended their right to report from the White House.
In a separate development, President Trump has announced an agreement concerning Greenland that he says gives the United States permanent control over security in the Arctic territory and seeks to prevent adversaries from establishing military bases or making sensitive investments there.
However, Greenland and Denmark retain sovereignty over Greenland, and the proposed arrangement is subject to formal procedures.
The developments come amid heightened debate over U.S. media access and Washington’s strategic interests in the Arctic.
