UP National Youth Congress Announces Strategic Retreat in Ganta

The National Youth Congress (NYC) of the Unity Party (UP) has unveiled plans for an influential retreat in Ganta, Nimba County, from January 31 to February 2, 2025. The event aims to bolster the party’s youth wing and position it as a driving force for progress and change in Liberia.

Under the theme “Unity in Victory: Building for a Strong Tomorrow,” the retreat will unite youth leaders and members nationwide. Their goal will be to strategize, galvanize support, and strengthen the party’s grassroots efforts in advancing the Unity Party’s Rescue Mission. The NYC emphasized that the retreat will serve as a platform to engage young Liberians and instill renewed energy and commitment to the party’s vision.

The retreat’s objectives include fostering greater unity within the party, empowering youth structures, and preparing the Congress to face upcoming challenges. In addition, NYC stressed the importance of unity in overcoming obstacles and reaffirmed the Unity Party’s role as a beacon of hope for the Liberian people.

The NYC is also calling on party members, supporters, and leaders to contribute in various capacities, whether financially, morally, or logistically, to ensure the retreat’s success. In their appeal, they emphasized that support for this event is an investment in the party’s future and the potential of Liberia’s young leaders.

In a strong message, NYC warned government officials they believe deviated from the Rescue Mission’s principles. The statement hinted that, upon returning from the retreat, NYC’s actions would become “robust and revolutionary,” signaling an intensified call for accountability and adherence to the Unity Party’s core values.

The retreat is seen as the beginning of a new chapter for the National Youth Congress, reaffirming youth’s vital role in societal transformation. NYC believes the retreat will reinvigorate its drive for change, given its commitment to building a unified Liberia that serves all citizens.

Organized by the National Executive Committee of the Unity Party, the NYC concluded their announcement with a resolute statement: “The struggle continues, but victory is assured!”
