WAEC Liberia Releases 2026 WASSCE Results, 33,741 Candidates Pass

The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) Liberia has released the results of the 2026 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE), with 33,741 candidates passing out of 55,887 who sat the examination across the country.

The results were released on Thursday, giving students, parents, schools and education authorities the opportunity to assess this year’s performance.

Of the 55,887 candidates who took the examination, 33,741 were successful, representing about 60.4 percent of the total number of candidates.

Mathematics recorded a 72.8 percent pass rate, making it one of the better-performing subjects in this year’s examination. Physics recorded a 53.7 percent pass rate.

Vocational and technical subjects also performed strongly, with several trade areas recording pass rates close to 100 percent.

The results are expected to bring relief to thousands of students who have been waiting to learn their academic fate after completing the regional examination.

For many successful candidates, the results will determine their next step, including admission to universities, colleges and other institutions of higher learning.

The results also give the Ministry of Education, schools and other stakeholders an opportunity to examine areas where students performed well and subjects where additional support may be needed.

WAEC Liberia is expected to provide further details on the results, including subject-by-subject performance and other relevant information concerning candidates and schools.

The 2026 WASSCE results come at a time when education stakeholders continue to call for stronger investment in teaching, learning materials, teacher training and technical and vocational education across Liberia.
