The Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency (LDEA) continues its drive toward professionalism and gender inclusion with the recruitment of Joletha K. Joe, a 25-year-old aspiring female officer whose commitment to public service and national security has positioned her among the Agency’s newest recruits.

Recruit Joe brings a strong academic and professional background to the LDEA. She is a graduate of the African Methodist Episcopal Zion University, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Law Enforcement. Demonstrating a continued commitment to professional development, she is currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in Police Administration at the AME Zion Graduate School and Professional Studies.

In addition to her academic achievements, Recruit Joe has obtained several professional certificates from training programs both within Liberia and abroad, further strengthening her qualifications for a career in law enforcement.

Her recruitment reflects the LDEA’s ongoing efforts to professionalize the institution and expand opportunities for women in the security sector under the leadership of Officer-in-Charge DCP Fitzgerald T. M. Biago. The Agency has increasingly emphasized the importance of attracting educated and qualified personnel to strengthen its fight against drug trafficking and substance abuse across the country.

Currently undergoing professional training at the Liberia National Police Academy Training School, Recruit Joe is part of a new generation of officers being equipped with the discipline, knowledge, and practical skills required to effectively serve and protect the Liberian people.

As more women continue to break barriers in traditionally male-dominated professions, Recruit Joe’s journey stands as a source of inspiration for young women across Liberia. Her determination and pursuit of excellence highlight the growing role of women in law enforcement and underscore the importance of female leadership in advancing national development and public safety.
