A 55-year-old man identified as Christopher Jackson Bropleh is battling serious injuries after his house collapsed on him during a heavy rainstorm in Fankporh Community, Grand Cess, Grand Kru County.

The unfortunate incident occurred at about 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, leaving residents shocked and concerned about the man’s welfare.

According to eyewitnesses, the house suddenly gave way following heavy rainfall. Community members initially believed the structure was empty until they heard Christopher crying for help from beneath the debris.

Residents quickly rushed to the scene and managed to rescue him from the wreckage. They found him trapped near the doorway, with one of his legs badly broken by the weight of the collapsed roof and walls.

Witnesses said several parts of his body also sustained injuries as a result of the pressure from the fallen structure.

Community members disclosed that Christopher is believed to be suffering from mental health challenges and has been living alone under difficult conditions. Some residents claimed that his condition had contributed to the deterioration of parts of the house before the collapse.

With limited access to medical care, Christopher is currently receiving treatment from a local herbalist as he struggles to recover from the injuries.

The incident has drawn sympathy from many residents, who say Christopher’s situation highlights the challenges faced by vulnerable people living with mental health conditions in rural communities.

Citizens are now calling for humanitarian assistance and medical support to help him recover and improve his living conditions.
