In a night filled with celebration and recognition of excellence in Liberian sports, Cassell Kuoh, CEO of FC Fassell, was honored as the 2024–2025 Men’s Club President of the Year by the Sports Writers Association of Liberia (SWAL). The prestigious award ceremony was held at the Samuel Kanyon Doe (SKD) Sports Complex in Paynesville, just outside Monrovia.
Kuoh, a well-known figure in Liberian football and a long-time supporter of grassroots sports development, has been praised for his impactful leadership and unwavering commitment to elevating the game. His club, FC Fassell, recently clinched the Liberia Football Association (LFA) First Division League title for the 2024–2025 season, a feat that further solidified his position as a leading figure in local football.
Hailing from Margibi County, Kuoh has also been a key supporter of the Margibi Sports Association (MSA). His contributions were especially felt during the recent National County Sports Meet, where the Gibi boys of Margibi secured third place. Sports enthusiasts across the county and beyond have hailed the award as a deserving honor for a man deeply invested in sports development.
“It’s well deserved. The contributions of Cassell Kuoh to Liberia’s sporting arena are unmatched,” said Andrew Kollie, former Public Relations Officer of the MSA, in an interview with Verity News.
The SWAL Awards night also recognized several other outstanding individuals. Jessica Quachie was crowned the 2024–2025 Most Valuable Player, while Senator Momo T. Cyrus took home the Best Sports Patron of the Year award. Grace Hawa Weah aka Master Queen was honored as Best Female Club President, Nathaniel Tokpah won the Best Commentator Award, Elijah Fahn was recognized as Best Fan of the Year, and T. Kla Wesley Jr. took home both Best Sports Journalist and Best Photojournalist of the Year.
The annual SWAL Awards continue to shine a light on the achievements of Liberia’s sports figures and stakeholders, celebrating those who contribute meaningfully to the growth and promotion of sports across the nation.
